Year 3

This term the Year 3's have been writing narratives. They read lots of narratives and brainstormed ideas to write a descriptive story with a twist, or complication. It was great sharing and listening to such a variety of stories. Well done Year 3's!

In Term 3 the Year 3's were learning about the vocabulary of Lighthouses through Poetry.  We used their learning from the classroom and wrote a descriptive poem before using collage to accompany our work.

This term the Year 3's were learning about Static Electricity in Esol.  We carried out a number of experiments to create static electricity by rubbling a balloon with nylon cloth and holding it above our partners hair to see what would happen.  We talked alot about what happened and why!

In Term 2 the Year 3's were learning how to write instructions.  They made a Marble track, tested it, identified the verbs and wrote how to make it.

This term the Year 3 students were learning about what celebrations have in common.  We talked about Birthdays and Diwali.  We brainstormed and recorded our ideas in a Venn Diagram.  After that we wrote about what we had found out.
